June 2025 Newsletter

Michael : Did you hear about the kidnapping at the playground?
Amy : Don’t worry, he woke up.

Friends,

Hello again, it’s Michael Antonini. June 1, 2, and 6, 2025 mark my 18th wedding anniversaries to my wife Amy. She is a genius. We just celebrated with a trip to the Almondy Inn in Newport, RI. Turns out the rates are cheaper before Memorial Day.

June is heating up—and with it, summer plans, family time, and a few important Medicare and Social Security updates. This month, we’re highlighting what you should know heading into summer and a few price changes. Let’s keep things smooth and easy.

We also celebrate Father’s Day in June. So happy Father’s Day, happy graduation and happy June birthdays to everyone who falls in these categories.

Kind Regards,

Michael Antonini

What’s New

  • Frank Bisignano - New Social Security Administrator. Frank Bisignano was confirmed by the Senate on May 6, 2025, in a 53-47 vote. Bisignano was President Trump's nominee to head the agency. He previously served as the CEO of Fiserv, a financial services technology company.  For more info, click here.

  • Executive order to ask for a reduction in Drug Prices. President Trump signed an executive order  on May 12, 2025 asking
drug makers to voluntarily reduce the prices of key medicines in the United States. Here’s a link to my take on the matters above.

  • Price Changes on June 1.  AARP & Humana Medicare Supplement Plans are increasing monthly rates this month. Most of the other Medicare Supplement plans will increase later in the year or January.

Ask An Expert: Travel Tips for the Summer

Not everything in summer is about insurance—sometimes it's just about doing things right. Here are some easy, helpful travel tips for you or your loved ones:

  • Pack Light, But Smart

  • Bring layers for changing weather, and always carry essential meds in your carry-on — plus a written list of your prescriptions, just in case.

  • Download Helpful Apps. Google Maps, weather trackers, and medication reminders go a long way—especially in unfamiliar places.

  • Hydrate & Snack. Air travel and long drives can sneak up on you—keep a refillable water bottle and healthy snacks handy.

  • Plan Breaks. If you’re on the road, build in 10- to 15-minute stretch stops. Your body and mind will thank you.

  • Let Someone Know. Whether you're solo or with a group, share your itinerary with a trusted friend or family member.

Important Dates

  • June 11th, at 3:44 AM EDT - June full & Strawberry Moon.

  • June 15, 2025 - Happy Father’s Day!

  • June 20, 2025, at 10:42 p.m. EDT - June Summer Solstice

  • June 28 – National Insurance Awareness Day (Yes, it’s a thing!)

Congrats to all the proud grandparents celebrating a graduation! Happy June Birthdays and Anniversaries!

All the best,

Michael Antonini
